Our History
More than a Century in the Making
For twenty-eight years, the former Century Ballroom has been a cornerstone of Seattle’s dance community, a place where movement, connection, and creativity have flourished under the leadership of Hallie Kuperman. Now, as we step into the future, we are honored to continue that legacy—protecting this historic space while reimagining it for a new era of dance, performance, and community.
Located in the historic OddFellows Building, built in 1908 by the Fraternal Order of the OddFellows, stands as a Capitol Hill landmark, blending timeless architecture with renewed purpose.
Renovations begin in this iconic space on April 1st, 2025 with the goal of highlighting the soaring ceilings, intricate facades, and versatile performance areas. Our goal is to restore the Grand Ballroom and West Hall to their original 1908 grandeur. These updates will not only preserve the beauty of this cherished space but also allow us to expand its offerings in exciting new ways.
The Story & Magic
of Reverie
Century Ballroom has been a cherished dance space in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood for decades, and as we take the next step in its journey, we wanted a name that reflects both its legacy and its future. After hundreds of thoughtful submissions, we are thrilled to announce its new name: Reverie Ballroom.
Inspired by legendary dance halls like The Savoy Ballroom, The Palladium, The Crystal Ballroom, and Paradise Garage, we wanted a name that honors history while embracing something unique. “Reverie” captures the magic of dance, where we lose ourselves in the rhythm, the music, and the moment.
Whether you love swing, fusion, salsa, tango, or ballroom dance, this is your place to dream, dance, and create new memories.
